An rare prospect has presented itself for an experienced Client-Side Project Manager to join a leading Australian project management consultancy with an established portfolio across retail, shopping centres, large-format retail and mixed-use property.
Our client advises and represents owners, investors and developers across the full project lifecycle. Their retail portfolio includes shopping-centre redevelopments, centre upgrades, major tenancy works, supermarket and fresh-food environments, large-format retail and complex projects delivered within operating assets.
This is not a generalist project-management appointment.
We are seeking someone who understands how retail projects are delivered—the importance of trading continuity, staging and access, tenant and centre-management interfaces, authority and landlord approvals, customer experience, operational constraints and immovable opening dates.
You will manage projects from feasibility, briefing and design through procurement, construction, handover and close-out, acting as the client's trusted representative and keeping consultants, contractors, tenants and internal stakeholders aligned.
This progressive consultancy has a collaborative senior leadership team, a strong repeat-client base and a practical delivery culture. The role offers genuine project ownership, direct client exposure and further career development within an established national platform.
This is an outstanding career opportunity for a client-side Project Manager with genuine retail and shopping-centre delivery experience.
This is an outstanding career opportunity — don't miss it.
To be successful in being shortlisted for this role, it is ideal you possess the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management,
Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Property or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years' local project-delivery experience, including demonstrated client-side project management experience.
- Proven delivery exposure across shopping centres, retail centre upgrades, large-format retail, supermarket, tenancy delivery or comparable live retail assets.
- A practical understanding of staging, decanting, hoardings, access, services shutdowns, trading continuity and stakeholder communication within operational centres.
- Experience managing design teams, consultants, authorities, contractors, landlords, centre management and tenant stakeholders.
- Strong programme, budget, risk, procurement and reporting capability.
- Professional communication skills and full Australian working rights.
The role will see you:
- Represent the client and lead projects through feasibility, briefing, design, approvals, procurement, construction and close-out.
- Establish project programmes, budgets, governance, procurement strategies, risk registers and reporting frameworks.
- Manage architects, engineers, specialist consultants, contractors and other delivery partners against agreed scope and outcomes.
- Coordinate centre management, operations, leasing, tenants and project stakeholders to minimise disruption to live trading environments.
- Plan and monitor staging, access, shutdowns,
logistics, hoardings and handover requirements around operational constraints.
- Lead tender processes, evaluate submissions, make recommendations and administer consultant and contractor engagements.
- Monitor cost, programme, quality and risk while providing clients with clear, accurate and timely reporting.
- Chair project meetings, maintain action registers and drive accountability across competing stakeholder priorities.
- Manage commissioning, tenancy or operational handover, defects and project close-out.
We anticipate a high level of interest. Applications will be treated in strict confidence.
