About the role

A and D Fry Refrigeration is seeking a skilled and experienced Refrigeration Mechanic to join our growing team. This is a full-time position based in Camden NSW 2570. As a Refrigeration Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, repairing, and installing refrigeration systems and beverage equipment for our diverse clientele across Sydney Metro and regions. This position is essential to our operations, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and safely whilst meeting industry standards and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for diagnosing complex technical issues, executing repairs, and providing expert advice to customers, contributing directly to our reputation for quality service and technical excellence.

What you'll be doing

- Install, service, and repair refrigeration and beverage equipment to our commercial clients in fast food restaurants

- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in refrigeration equipment using specialised testing equipment and tools

- Perform preventative maintenance on systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity

- Replace components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems as required

- Test refrigerant levels and charge systems to manufacturer specifications

- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations including proper handling and disposal of refrigerants

- Maintain detailed records of work completed, parts used, and time spent on each job

- Communicate effectively with customers to explain issues, required repairs, and maintenance recommendations





- Work safely at heights and in confined spaces when necessary, adhering to all health and safety protocols

- Collaborate with team members and management to prioritise workload and meet service commitments

What we're looking for

- Trade qualification in refrigeration and air conditioning or equivalent demonstrated experience

- Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and mechanical components

- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, multimeters, refrigerant recovery equipment, and other specialised machinery

- Understanding of environmental and safety regulations governing refrigerant handling and disposal

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites across the region

- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach

- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour, including heavy lifting

- Preferred: Experience with commercial or industrial refrigeration systems, or additional qualifications in electrical work
