Our Client
Our client operates a progressive dairy farm in the Waaia District of Northern Victoria. The business focuses on solid herd performance, quality milk production, efficient pasture-based farming, and high standards of animal welfare.
The Role
This is a key hands-on position responsible for the day-to-day management of the dairy herd. Working closely with the Farm Manager and farm team, you will help drive animal health, reproduction, milk quality and production performance.
- Manage daily milking, herd movements, drafting, feeding and stock handling.
- Monitor herd health, fertility, body condition, milk quality and production performance.
- Assist with calving, calf rearing, mating programs, pregnancy testing and herd decisions.
- Support grazing rotations, feed allocation, pasture utilisation and supplementary feeding.
- Maintain accurate records and high standards of animal welfare, biosecurity and safety.
About You
- Proven dairy farming or herd-management experience.
- Sound knowledge of dairy cow health, nutrition, reproduction and pasture-based systems.
- Confident operating dairy equipment and farm machinery safely.
- Practical, reliable and well organised, with good communication and record-keeping skills.
- Current driver licence; agricultural qualifications will be well regarded.
