About the role

Perform rigging and lifting activities in accordance with site procedures and safety requirements. This role involves inspecting lifting equipment, selecting appropriate rigging configurations, directing crane operations, and assisting with installation and removal of mining equipment and components.

Key responsibilities

- Inspect lifting equipment, slings, shackles, chains, spreader bars and other rigging gear before use

- Select appropriate lifting equipment and rigging configurations for each load

- Correctly sling, secure and balance loads prior to lifting

- Direct crane and mobile lifting operations using approved hand signals and communication systems

- Assist crane operators with positioning and placement of equipment, structural components and materials

- Undertake installation, removal and relocation of mining equipment and components

- Conduct dogging and rigging activities for shutdowns, maintenance and construction works

- Assist with the erection and dismantling of structures, platforms,



pipework and associated equipment

- Ensure exclusion zones and lifting areas are established and maintained

- Work safely at heights where required, using appropriate fall protection systems

About you

- Ability to work around heavy machinery, processing plants, conveyors, tanks and other mining infrastructure

- Knowledge of lift plans, SWMS/JHAs, permits and site-specific lifting procedures

- Ability to coordinate with scaffolders, boilermakers, mechanical trades and other site personnel

- Willingness to participate in pre-starts, toolbox meetings and safety inspections

- Ability to maintain accurate records and report damaged or defective lifting equipment

- Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work area

- Ability to stop work and report any unsafe lifting conditions or hazards

- Compliance with mining company safety, environmental and operational requirements
