We created The Know You Co because we’d seen the toll the traditional model of general practice was taking on so many of our friends and colleagues.

We believe that if you genuinely put doctors’ wellbeing first, better patient care will follow.

We specialise in complex medicine, chronic disease management and health promotion. We’ve built a model that gives GPs the time and space to do that work properly.

Eight to twelve patients a day, 30 to 60-minute appointments, protected catch-up time, proper lunch breaks, complete autonomy over your book, beautiful warm space, and a great team culture.

Why we built the practice

The Know You Co came out of our own experience of what general practice had become.

Our founder, Dr Laura Chapman, loved being a GP, particularly chronic disease, complex presentations and getting to know her patients over time.

But the way she was working wasn't sustainable.

Patients were booked back-to-back, she was constantly running late and skipping lunch. Results, referrals and notes were pushed to the end of the day, and work regularly continued late into the evening.





She reached a point where she was questioning whether she could continue in general practice at all.

So we started from scratch and built the practice around one simple idea: if we genuinely put GP wellbeing first, better patient care would naturally follow.

That idea has shaped every decision we've made. Longer appointments, fewer patients each day, protected catch-up time, proper lunch breaks, autonomy over appointment books and a business model that doesn't financially penalise doctors for spending the time needed with their patients.

The medicine

We're a specialist general practice focused on chronic disease management, health promotion, prevention and relationship-based care. This reflects the practice's established model of longer consultations, continuity and coordinated care for chronic and complex health needs.

Our patients often have complex histories and need someone with the time to step back, think and bring the pieces together.

It's intellectually engaging medicine, and we've designed the appointment structure to give you the time to do it properly.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for a GP who enjoys complex medicine.

You will need FRACGP or equivalent, AHPRA registration and Australian working rights.

You might already be working in general practice and wondering whether there's a more sustainable way to do it.

Or you might have moved into policy, defence, medical advisory or another non-clinical role and be thinking about returning to patient care.
