Contract Administrator
Work on Tier One construction projects
Monday to Friday working hours
DCAC or ability to secure DCAC is essential
Working for a well-established and growing electrical contracting organisation and reporting to the Project Manager, this Contract Administrator position will involve supporting project delivery teams with a range of contractual, commercial, procurement and administrative activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with contractual obligations.
Permanent and full time and will be working at project site : Edinburgh, SA
Hours: MON to FRI with flexible start and finish times
Current Defence Common Access Card (DCAC) clearance highly regarded, or the ability to successfully obtain and maintain a DCAC clearance is essential.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Prepare and administer subcontract agreements and supplier contracts
- Manage contract correspondence and maintain contract registers
- Process subcontractor progress claims and payment schedules
- Assess and manage project variations and extensions of time
- Assist with procurement activities including tendering and subcontractor engagement
- Monitor project budgets, commitments, and expenditure
- Maintain project documentation and records
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Prepare commercial reports and project forecasts
- Support project managers with contractual and commercial matters
- Ensure contractual compliance and risk management requirements are met
- Assist with project close-out and final account activities
Skills / Experience Required
- Currently have or be able to obtain defence security clearance (DCAC)
- Previous Contract Administration experience is essential
- Previous experience gained in large construction and/or defence projects will be highly regarded
- Previous experience administering electrical works packages is preferred, however applicants with experience across civil, mechanical, structural, building, or other construction trade packages will also be considered.
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Building & Construction, or a related discipline preferred; however, significant industry experience in a Contract Administration role will also be considered.
- Sound understanding of Australian construction contracts
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills
- High-level communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment
- Attitude is everything and you will have a strong work ethic and a "can do" approach
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet project deadlines
