Centacare Family Services are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced applicants to join our team in the position of Aboriginal Community Engagement Officer.
This is a part time (19 hours per week) position located in Geraldton, Western Australia.
Key Functions
Support Aboriginal clients to navigate the services delivered by Centacare.
Promote Centacare’s service to the Aboriginal community through outreach and community engagement.
Promote culturally appropriate models of service delivery within Centacare.
Qualifications – Desirable
Community Services or related fields.
Skills & Experience
This is an Aboriginal identified position under Section 50 (d) of the Equal Prospect Act 1984 (WA) – Applicants must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strat Islander.
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, within community services or a related field.
Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and the ability to understand and empathies with the issues that impact on Aboriginal people of the Midwest and the Gascoyne regions.
Demonstrated effective communication skills (inter-personal,
verbal and written).
Experience in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Current C Class Driver's Licence.
Remuneration & Benefits
A remuneration package based on the SCHCADS Award 2010 plus superannuation and salary sacrifice option will be provided based on skills and experience.
Level 3.1 $40.49 per hour + Superannuation.
