We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Senior Sales Assistant + Deli Assistant to join our friendly team at IGA Youngtown in Launceston, Tasmania.

This permanent part time role will involve shifts across a wide variety of areas within our supermarket, including assisting with putting stock up, cashier roles, deli shifts and opening/closing the supermarket on select days. The role will be from 25 - 30 hours per week, depending on the applicant.

Key Responsibilities:
Providing exceptional customer service and assisting customers with their shopping needs
Within the deli - slicing meats, packaging serviced products and preparing and creating instore food items
Work safely in accordance with all legislation and supermarket policies and procedures
Assisting with opening / closing the store
Maintaining store displays and shelves to ensure a neat and organised retail setting
Handling cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently
Collaborating with the team to ensure smooth store operations




Adhering to health, safety and hygiene standards

Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in a retail or customer service role, preferably in a grocery or supermarket environment
Expertise in stock management, merchandising, and maintaining high presentation standards
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers and colleagues
Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workplace
A positive attitude and a genuine desire to provide excellent customer service
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including a shift every weekend, public holidays and shifts that finish at 7.30pm or start at 7.30am
Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
Capacity to work well under pressure
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 15kg regularly
