About the role

Burnside Advanced Early Learning Centre is a 114 place service located in the Eastern suburbs of Adelaide. We are a Long Day Centre, providing high quality education and care. We are looking for a Cook for a permanent part time position working Monday to Friday 8.00am-2.00pm to provide nutritious meals for our children.

Key responsibilities
Planning and preparing nutritious meals, meeting current dietary requirements for children aged 6 months to 5 years
Implementing all aspects of the Food Safety Plan
Implement high standards of hygiene and safety practices
Work within a budget to order supplies
Working collaboratively with educators to provide nutritional meals and occasional events / educational activities for the children
Create menus and recipes appropriate for a range of ages and dietary requirements

About you
Holds an AQF Certificate III in Community Food Services or equivalent skills (preferred)




Has experience in delivering a balanced menu for children across age groups (preferred)
Holds or willing to hold a Working with Children Check
Holds or willing to hold a current Child Protected Environments
Holds or willing to hold a current Food Handling Certificate
Has an understanding of the Food Safety Standards and the Nutrition Australia Dietary Guidelines
The ability to contribute to a harmonious, professional and positive work culture
Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team
Skills to foster and develop robust and effective relationships with children and families
Maintain, respect and adhere to the services philosophy, policies and procedure
