As a Maintenance Support Worker, you will provide practical assistance to our clients with a range of household maintenance, gardening and property-related tasks. Your work will help clients maintain a protected, clean and comfortable home workplace while supporting their independence and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
General household maintenance and minor repairs
Basic gardening and lawn maintenance
Mowing, whipper-snipping, pruning and general outdoor upkeep
Cleaning and maintaining outdoor areas
Minor painting and touch-up work
Basic handyman tasks
Assisting with furniture assembly and moving items where appropriate
Identifying and reporting maintenance issues that require qualified tradespeople
Completing tasks safely and respectfully while working within the client's home
Following all relevant workplace health and safety requirements
About you
Reliable, punctual and dependable
Practical and confident using basic tools and equipment
Comfortable completing general maintenance and gardening tasks
Physically capable of carrying out the duties required of the role
Friendly, respectful and approachable
Able to work independently and manage tasks effectively
Safety-conscious and attentive to detail
Comfortable working in clients' homes and maintaining professional boundaries
A good communicator who can work well with clients and the wider YVSC team
