Position Description: Residential Cleaner
Background and Experience: Residential Cleaner are required to have:

a) At least 6 months local experience in working with clients who have a disability

b) At least 2 referrals from previous employment or training

c) Must possess “explicit” police check less than 12 months old

d) NDIS Clearance (01 Feb 2021)

e) High School qualification or similar.

f) Positive knowledge of cleaning supplies and chemicals.
Personal Qualities: Residential Cleaner are required to demonstrate

a) An ability to prioritise work

b) Robust interpersonal and problem-solving abilities

c) Excellent communication and organizational skills

d) An ability to work unsupervised

e) Display sensitivity to client’s different cultures, languages and customs

f) Ability to stand, sit, and stoop for long periods.

g) Polite disposition.

h) Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
Tasks: Residential Cleaner are required to:

a) Dusting, sweeping, mopping, and washing floors, toilets, showers, tubs, driveways, windows, and counters.

b) Vacuuming carpets, upholstery, and any other dusty surface.

c)



Cleaning all surfaces in the kitchen and bathroom.

d) Making beds and fluffing pillows.

e) Folding clean laundry.

f) Scrubbing and sanitizing all relevant surfaces.

g) Handling all furniture and appliances carefully.
In addition to the above tasks, Residential Cleaner are expected to:

a) Ring the employer promptly if there is an incident or accident which has occurred whilst with a client

b) In the case of emergency, ringing “000” and apply first aid

c) Document for the employer, the details of any incidents, accidents or events within 24 hours, using the Incident/complaints forms

Participate in quality assurance and compliance process as and when required by the employer.

Pay: From $34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
