Electrical Controls Technician – PLC & Control Panel Wiring
We are looking for a practical and detail-oriented Electrical Controls Technician to assist with the wiring, assembly and connection of control cabinets for automated and robotic systems.
The role involves working with low-voltage control systems, PLCs, sensors, relays, contactors and related electrical components. You will also assist with in office connections, testing and basic fault finding.
Requirements
Basic understanding of PLC programming
Good understanding of electrical wiring and connections
Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
Familiarity with low-voltage control circuits, sensors, relays, contactors and PLC I/O
Solid attention to detail and ability to check your own work
Ability to work independently after receiving instructions and guidelines
Basic practical experience with wiring, electronics, robotics or automation
Formal industry experience is not essential. Experience gained through university projects, personal projects,
robotics, Arduino, PLC or other electronics projects will also be considered.
Suitable Background
This position may suit a:
Electrical Engineering student or graduate
Mechatronics Engineering student or graduate
Automation or Control Engineering student or graduate
Electrical/Electronics Technician
Electrician with an interest in PLC and automation systems
Knowledge of Ladder Logic or Structured Text would be an advantage.
The successful candidate should be practical, meticulous, willing to learn and comfortable taking responsibility for completing tasks accurately.
This is a valuable opportunity for someone interested in developing practical experience in industrial automation, robotics, PLC control systems and electrical control cabinet assembly.
Expected hours: 10.0 – 40.0 per week
