Flip Out Box Hill is looking for a reliable Casual Chef to keep our café running smoothly and cater for birthday parties and group bookings. This casual role is perfect for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, high-energy environment and can commit to working every weekend.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items to Flip Out's quality and presentation standards
Manage food prep, cooking, and plating during busy service periods
Prepare and coordinate party food packages for birthday parties and group bookings, ensuring timely delivery to party rooms
Monitor stock levels and place supply orders as needed
Maintain a clean, organised, and protected kitchen in line with food safety regulations
Ensure proper food storage, labelling, and rotation (FIFO)
Manage kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues
Support front-of-house/café staff during peak times to keep service flowing
Liaise with party hosts/front desk on food timing and any dietary requirements

What You'll Bring




Prior experience as a chef or cook (café, casual dining, or similar rapid-paced kitchen preferred)
Experience catering for events, parties, or functions is a plus
Strong time management skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, including allergen awareness
Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
Comfortable working in a busy, family-friendly environment

Employment Type
Casual — availability required every weekend (Saturday & Sunday), with additional shifts based on business needs.
