About the Role
As a Personal Care Attendant, you will provide hands-on personal care and day-to-day support to NDIS participants in their own homes, helping them maintain dignity, comfort, and independence. Day-to-day duties will include:
Personal care support, including showering, grooming, dressing and continence care
Assistance with mobility, transfers and use of aids/equipment
Medication prompting and reminders
Domestic assistance – light housework, laundry and meal preparation
Support with community access and social participation
Companionship and emotional support, with respect for participants' culture and routine
Accurate progress notes and reporting in line with participants' support plans
Essential Checks & Certifications
All applicants must currently hold, or be willing and eligible to obtain prior to starting, the following:
NDIS Worker Screening Check (clearance)
National Police Check (current, within required timeframe)
Working with Children Check (WWCC)
First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 or equivalent)
CPR Certificate (current, HLTAID009 or equivalent)
Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module ("Quality, Safety and You")
Current Australian driver's licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle (preferred)
Essential Criteria
Due to the personal care needs and cultural preferences of the participants we support, this role has the following genuine occupational requirements:
Female applicants only — this role involves intimate personal care and is a genuine occupational requirement under the Equal Prospect Act 2010 (Vic)
Aged 30 years and above
Fluent in Egyptian Arabic and English (spoken and written)
Reliable, punctual and comfortable working independently in participants' homes
Compassionate, patient and respectful approach to care
Highly Regarded (Not Essential)
You'll stand out if you also have:
Experience supporting people living with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
Aged care experience (home care, residential care or community care)
Certificate III in Individual Support, Ageing Support, or Disability (or working towards)
