SCF is looking for a reliable and hands-on 2nd Class Welder / Depot Labourer to join our team on a full-time basis.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in repairing, modifying and maintaining shipping containers. No 2 days are exactly the same - one day you could be welding, the next repairing containers or working around the yard.

About the Role

Working as part of our depot team, your responsibilities will include:

Container Modifications
Welding and fabrication, including fitting walls, doors, windows and other container modifications
Reading and interpreting drawings and identifying practical solutions
Cutting, grinding and preparing steel components
Spray painting and finishing work
Inspecting containers for structural damage, corrosion, leaks and general wear

Container Repairs
Repairing container walls, roofs, floors, doors, locking gear, hinges and seals
Welding, cutting, grinding and fabricating steel components
Completing repairs to meet SCF quality requirements and applicable standards





General Depot Duties
Safely operating hand and power tools, machinery and welding equipment
Assisting with general workshop and yard activities as required
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment
Undertaking other reasonable duties to support the depot team

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will have:
Welding experience, with MIG welding experience preferred
Confidence using hand and power tools
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
A reliable, positive and proactive approach to work

Requirements
Current driver's licence
Full Australian working rights
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
