Weekend Kitchen Hand – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

Hungry Italiano is a small, family-owned restaurant in Terrigal, and we’re looking for a dependable Kitchen Hand to join our team as we head into the busy spring and summer season.

This role is rostered across Friday, Saturday and Sunday, between 11:00 am and 9:30 pm. You must have ongoing availability across all three days—this is a non-negotiable requirement of the position.

The role includes:
Helping the chefs with food preparation during the day
Preparing and plating salads during dinner service
Warming and preparing breads for service
Washing dishes, cookware and kitchen equipment
Keeping the kitchen and wash-up area clean and organised
Restocking ingredients and supporting the chefs during busy services
Following food-safety and hygiene procedures
Completing cleaning and closing duties
Helping wherever needed to keep the kitchen running smoothly

We’re looking for someone who:
Is genuinely available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Has a solid work ethic and a can-do attitude
Is reliable, punctual and understands that the team depends on them




Can work quickly and efficiently in a busy kitchen
Is willing to learn, follow instructions and accept feedback
Lives locally or has reliable transport to Terrigal
Is looking for reliable, ongoing work—not occasional weekend shifts

Experience is helpful, but it isn’t essential. We’re happy to train the right person from the ground up if they’re committed and willing to work hard. Your hourly rate will comply with the applicable hospitality award and will reflect your age, classification and experience. There is potential for this position to develop into full time work for the right person.

We understand genuine illness and emergencies happen. However, because weekends are our busiest trading period, this role will not suit someone who regularly has other commitments or cannot consistently work all three rostered days.

Pay: $26.44 – $44.96 per hour
