Chef – Full Time

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our team in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. This is a full time position working 38 hours per week.

Salary: $80,000 per annum plus superannuation

Key duties and responsibilities:
Prepare, season and cook a variety of Japanese dishes using appropriate cooking techniques and recipes.
Prepare sushi, ramen, udon, tempura, curry, gyoza and other menu items.
Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before preparation and cooking.
Monitor the quality, taste, portion size and presentation of meals before they are served.
Plan and review menu items in consultation with management and assist with the development of new or seasonal dishes.
Estimate food and ingredient requirements based on expected customer demand and menu requirements.
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering food, ingredients and kitchen supplies.
Ensure ingredients are appropriately stored, labelled and rotated and take appropriate steps to minimise food wastage.
Organise food preparation and coordinate cooking activities to ensure meals are prepared efficiently during service periods.




Maintain food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards.
Provide instructions and guidance to kitchen staff regarding food preparation, cooking methods, portioning and presentation.
Liaise with management regarding menu planning, ingredient requirements, food costs and general kitchen operations.

Qualifications and experience:
Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or a related field.
Relevant experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, food safety and hygiene requirements.
Ability to organise kitchen workflow and work effectively in a busy commercial kitchen setting.
Ability to maintain consistent food quality and presentation standards.
Valuable teamwork and communication skills.
