A privately owned practice in Brisbane’s bayside is seeking a small animal vet to join the team.

Now under new ownership, the practice has been caring for local pets for over 20 years and operates from modern, purpose-built premises.

This role can be full or part time, with around hours, making it well suited to a vet looking for a position that can work around their lifestyle.

For a full-time vet, the roster could be structured as four shifts from 8 am to 6:30 pm or five shorter shifts across Monday to Friday. Part time hours are very flexible and can be tailored around the successful applicant’s availability. Ideally, the new vet would be able to work approximately one Saturday in four, although this is not essential.

There is the option to work in a consulting-only capacity if preferred.

Three to four vets are usually rostered on each weekday and two on Saturdays. The nursing team is very experienced, providing strong clinical support to the vets.

The practice employs an experienced senior vet with a strong surgical focus, and a range of procedures, including orthopaedic surgery, are performed in-house.

The purpose-built clinic includes two consultation rooms, a surgical theatre,



treatment and wet procedures areas, a dedicated imaging room and separate dog and cat wards. Equipment includes digital x-ray, dental equipment with dental x-ray, ultrasound, orthopaedic equipment, a new microscope and in-house IDEXX pathology equipment.

The team prides itself on providing personalised, caring veterinary service to a growing and very loyal client base. Many clients have been with the practice for years and are generally receptive to their vets’ recommendations, giving clinicians the chance to investigate cases thoroughly and develop appropriate treatment plans.

Located in Brisbane’s bayside south-east, the practice is close to public transport, shops and schools, with Moreton Bay within easy reach. The area offers a relaxed coastal lifestyle with foreshore parks, walking and cycling trails, cafés, waterfront dining and plenty of opportunities for boating and watersports. Brisbane remains accessible while the bay and nearby islands provide plenty of options for weekends outdoors.
