We have a current opportunity for a Geospatial Systems Software (GSS) Specialist Engineer, on a contract basis within the Defence sector. The role is based in Canberra ACT. The contract is for an initial 36 month period, with a 12 month extension option.

DSS Skill Set: Level 3 - Specialist Engineering - Capability Definition Documents Development

The GSS Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:
Development, review and assessment of geospatial system architectures, software concepts, technical roadmaps and capability integration approaches.
Assessment of technical feasibility, architectural options, implementation risks and operational impacts associated with proposed capabilities and system enhancements.
Identification of interoperability requirements across Defence, intelligence and Whole-of-Government environments.
Assessment of prospects, risks and implementation considerations associated with emerging technologies including space capabilities, artificial intelligence, advanced data exploitation, automation and related technologies.

Minimum mandatory requirements:




AGSVA Security Clearance.
Skilled memberships and/or tertiary qualifications in engineering.
Experience in delivering Defence projects.
General understanding of the domestic and international geospatial and intelligence landscape including awareness of emerging geospatial technologies such as space systems, artificial intelligence and advanced data. capabilities.
Knowledge of the Australian National Intelligence Community.
Robust communication skills to discuss and document technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and
Knowledge of Defence Capability System processes (formerly One Defence Capability System).
