About the Roles & Teams
This is a fantastic chance to join a
Community Mental Health Service
in one of two key locum roles. Both positions require experienced mental health professionals who are confident in
acute assessment, risk management, and treatment planning
in a regional healthcare setting.
Role 1: Acute Adult Mental Health (SRN 3+)
Provide
acute mental health assessments, risk evaluations, and intervention planning
.
Deliver
psychiatric and consultant liaison nursing
in a community setting.
Support individuals experiencing
severe mental health crises
, ensuring appropriate care pathways.
Deliver
education and training sessions
to enhance service capability.
Role 2: Child & Adolescent Mental Health (iCAMHS - CNS)
Conduct
comprehensive mental health assessments and case management
for children and adolescents with




severe and enduring mental illness
.
Develop and implement
evidence-based intervention plans
.
Work collaboratively with families, schools, and other health professionals to provide holistic care.
Primarily based in
Northam
, with potential to work in
Narrogin or Merredin
depending on service needs.
Orientation provided in Northam
(1-2 weeks) for candidates new to WA Health systems.
Skills & Requirements
Registered Nurse (AHPRA)
with experience in mental health nursing.
Expertise in
acute mental health assessments, crisis intervention, and risk management
.
Experience in
psychiatric liaison nursing (Acute role)
OR
child & adolescent case management (CAMHS role)
.
Ability to work independently and as part of a
regional multidisciplinary team
.
Cultural awareness and experience working with Aboriginal communities
.
National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check & Vaccinations
(or willingness to obtain).
