Role Overview We are seeking an experiencedJava Solution Designerto join aBusiness Transactions Programwithin a financial services setting.
This role is responsible for designing robust, scalable, and secure solutions that support high-volume, mission-critical transaction processing.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and delivery teams to translate complex business requirements into well-defined technical solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead theend-to-end solution designfor Java-based systems supporting business and financial transactions
Translate business and functional requirements intotechnical designs, architecture diagrams, and design documentation
Design scalable, resilient, and high-performance solutions forhigh-volume transaction processing
Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and development teams to ensure designs are understood and deliverable
Ensure solutions comply withfinancial services regulations, security standards,



and internal governance frameworks
Provide technical guidance during build, test, and deployment phases
Review and approve detailed designs, code approaches, and integration patterns
Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies
Support integration with upstream/downstream systems, including APIs, messaging, and legacy platforms
Required Skills & Experience
Strong experience as aSolution Designer / Senior Engineerin Java environments
Deep hands-on knowledge ofJava (8+), Spring / Spring Boot, and enterprise Java frameworks
Experience designing systems forbusiness or financial transactions, ideally in banking, payments, or capital markets
Solid understanding ofmicroservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and integration patterns
Experience withtransaction management, data consistency, and fault tolerance
Strong knowledge ofSQL and relational databases(e.g. Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
Familiarity withevent-driven architecturesand messaging (e.g. Kafka, JMS, MQ)
Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
Nice to Have
Previous experience working onlarge transformation or regulatory programs
Exposure tocloud platforms(Azure)
Experience withCI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)
Knowledge of financial messaging standards or transaction frameworks
