Junior Commercial Analyst
and play a crucial role in delivering insights that drive informed business decisions.
About the Role
As a
Junior Commercial Analyst
, you will be responsible for leveraging advanced data analytics to support month-end reporting, regulatory obligations, and business insights. Working as part of a collaborative Finance Performance and Analysis team of four, you will contribute to financial modelling, reporting, and operational processes that enable strategic decision-making.
Your Key Responsibilities
Financial Modelling, Analysis, and Reporting:
Manipulate, analyse, and synthesise large volumes of data using automation tools such as Power Pivot and Power BI.
Provide direct data, insights, and analytical support to the
Senior Commercial Analyst – Retirement Living, Housing, and Property
.
Actively lead the
village budget process
and support
quarterly and annual reporting
.
Participate in
monthly meetings
with village and housing managers.
Conduct internal benchmarking of similar projects and external benchmarking where possible.
Assist in the formulation and documentation of
financial and operational data governance, data catalogue, and data quality assurance processes
.
Operational Processes:
Support the
month-end, budgeting, and rolling forecast workstreams
.
Ensure the
timely completion of regulatory obligations
.
Develop
clear, concise, and insightful communication materials
.
Support the execution of
new initiatives




to enhance financial performance.
Proactively
identify opportunities and challenges
, assessing potential financial impacts.
Identify and implement
process improvements
.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualification in
Accounting/Finance
.
Current membership or working towards membership in
CPA Australia (CPA), Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA), or CFA Institute
.
Experience & Skills:
Minimum
2 years' experience
in a
finance, commercial, or business analyst
role.
Strong experience in
producing accurate and timely management reports
.
Proven ability to
manage large volumes of data, analyse trends, and extract key insights
.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
(e.g., Power Pivot, VBA, Macros).
Strong
problem-solving skills
and attention to detail.
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills
.
Ability to
navigate a complex organisation and build solid relationships
.
Bonus Skills (Highly Desirable):
Experience using
Power BI and Adaptive Insights (or similar tools)
.
Prior experience in
Retirement Living or Property
analytics.
