We're on the hunt for an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen of a high-volume Melbourne CBD pub known for its modern menu and a reputation for serving some of the best pizzas in a public bar.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in busy environments, loves building robust teams, and is always looking for ways to be better than yesterday.

About the Role
n
As Head Chef, you'll take full ownership of the kitchen operation, setting the standard for food quality, consistency, and culture. You'll work closely with management to drive performance while keeping creativity and passion at the heart of what you do.

Key Responsibilities
n
Lead, train, and motivate a large kitchen team
n
Deliver a modern, high-quality menu with a strong focus on pizza
n
Pizza-making experience is preferred but not essential as training will be provided for suitable candidates
n
Manage kitchen operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
n
Cost and manage rosters, recipes, and menu items
n
Maintain food safety, compliance, and high operational standards
n




Hold any recognised food safety certification to ensure compliance with industry standards
n
Work weekends and public holidays (our busiest and best trading times)
n
About You
n
Proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Senior Sous in busy venues
n
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams
n
Experience working in high-volume kitchens
n
Strong skills in food and labour cost control
n
Passionate, innovative, and always striving to improve
n
Reliable, organised, and calm under pressure
n
