About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Credit Approver
to play a hands‐on role in assessing and approving consumer credit applications.
This is a
decision‐making role
, not a policy‐only or back‐office position. You will approve loans day‐to‐day while helping shape credit processes, controls, and operating standards as the business grows. Over time, the role will expand to include mentoring and oversight of junior analysts.
What You'll Be Working On
Assessing, recommending, and approving consumer credit applications in line with credit policy and delegated authority
Applying sound judgement across affordability, income, expenses, and risk assessment
Operating in a system‐driven environment (Biz Core or similar LOS/LMS) to manage workflow, capture decisions, and maintain audit trails
Supporting calibration of decision rules, checklists, and automation logic as volumes increase
Identifying process gaps, inefficiencies, and proposing practical improvements
Participating in file audits, compliance reviews and control checks




Supporting onboarding and training of junior credit analysts as the team grows
Working closely with marketing, product, operations, finance, and collections teams
Ensuring compliance with Credit Policy, NCCP, AML/CTF, Privacy Act, and other relevant regulations
Maintaining strong turnaround times while keeping file quality and documentation standards high
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a credit approver or senior credit assessor in non‐bank lending, secured consumer credit and auto finance.
Comfortable assessing near‐prime and sub‐prime customers
Strong understanding of Australian consumer credit and responsible lending requirements
Sound credit judgement with a consistent, defensible decision‐making approach
Robust time management and organisational skills
Comfortable working in an early‐stage environment where processes are still evolving
Experience with LOS/LMS platforms (Biz Core experience a plus, but not required)
