About the Role
We are looking for a Control Systems Engineer to join the WAIO Control Systems Eastern Pilbara Team.
This site-based FIFO prospect is located at BHP's
Jimblebar
Operation within the Eastern Pilbara.
As a key member of the WAIO Control Systems team, you will play a vital role in supporting safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
You will contribute to improving safety, system availability, asset reliability, production performance, and project delivery, while ensuring strong control systems governance and compliance.
Working closely with operational and technical stakeholders, you will help drive continuous improvement initiatives and deliver innovative control systems solutions that create lasting value for the operation.
This role offers a dynamic and exciting scope with a real opportunity to make a difference.

You will be responsible for but not limited to:
Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, setting responsibility and sustainable development.
Provide control systems support to breakdowns and production critical issues.




Investigate and identify the root cause of related downtime caused by control systems and identify and execute solutions to prevent repeat events from occurring.
Initiate and implement control systems improvement work to achieve safer and more reliable plant, thereby maintaining and improving process efficiencies, in line with our business plan
Design, review and execute PLC and SCADA changes.
Execute control systems design and commissioning for plant modifications and recent equipment installation.
Provide technical stewardship through a variety of work in the electrical and control systems space.
Provide governance on proposed control systems changes on site including critical control effectiveness test and verification.
Overriding commitment to achieve the best outcome for control systems safety, design and execution.
About You
Tertiary qualification in Electrical or Mechatronic or Control Systems Engineering or Trade qualifications in Electrical or Instrumentation discipline in equivalent industry and/or organisational experience
PLC experience: Experience in Allen Bradley RSLogix**** and/or Studio**** is necessary.
SCADA experience: Citect SCADA (Configuration and deployment)
It will be advantageous for the candidate:
TÜV Functional Safety Engineer qualification or equivalent
VSD (VVVF) configuration and diagnostic
Field Communication: DeviceNet, EthernetIP, ControlNet, & Modbus
Previous control systems experience with Balance Machines (Reclaimer & Stacker), Car Dumper/Load Out, Train Loadout, Conveyors and Shuttles
Previous experience with design and commissioning
Knowledgeable in analogue and discrete sensors (e.g. level, flow, pressure, temperature, position)
