Based in Parramatta, the role covers invoices, payments, financial transactions, budgets, forecasts, team workload, management reporting, stakeholder advice and service improvements across the EDConnect finance function.

The panel is likely to compare applicants on more than transaction knowledge.
The role needs someone who can interpret data, advise stakeholders, manage a busy operational service and improve the system behind the daily workload.

Verdict:
Existing Education or government shared-services candidates may bring direct knowledge of local systems and approvals, but the role has a transparent private-sector comparison.
Senior analysts and team leads from transaction banking, treasury operations, accounts operations, payment services and high-volume shared-service centres can be highly credible when they show accounting depth, customer judgement and continuous improvement.
You could be very competitive if...
You have owned a complex cashflow or finance-operations problem,
use advanced Excel or Power BI to find the cause, and can explain how the analysis changed stakeholder action.
Experience monitoring daily team workload while improving controls or service performance is particularly close to the role.
What a transferable candidate should make obvious
State the transaction volume, value, service users, controls, systems and time pressure.
Explain how your work protected both financial accuracy and customer experience.
A banking or commercial candidate should also show that they can work within policy, prepare concise briefings and communicate with governance or management forums.
What is probably not enough
A technically strong analyst may still fall short if all examples end with producing a spreadsheet.
The role expects advice, operational oversight and improvement.
Likewise, team coordination without accounting or cashflow depth is unlikely to compete.
If your Excel and Power BI claims are limited to basic reports, the first 300-word question will be difficult to answer convincingly.
Your application test
Can you describe a financial or cashflow issue where you structured the analysis yourself, found something that was not obvious and secured stakeholder action?
Can you pair it with a different example where you met a hard transaction deadline and still improved the process?
Those are the two stories the application is explicitly designed to test.
