Position Overview: Octopus Container Solutions Pty Ltd - Octopus Container Solutions Pty Ltd is a trusted provider of container unloading services, delivering fast, reliable and professional solutions to businesses across Sydney.
As a Logistics Analyst at Octopus Container Solutions Pty Ltd, you will be responsible for analysing container handling and logistics performance, identifying operational improvements, and supporting efficient service delivery across unloading and related logistics activities.
This position requires strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and a practical approach to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities and Tasks: Collect and analyse container unloading, labour utilisation, turnaround-time and service data to identify trends, bottlenecks and opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
Review container flow, job volumes and scheduling data, preparing reports that highlight capacity requirements, service variances and operational performance across unloading activities.
Evaluate existing logistics methods, procedures and workflows and recommend changes that improve container handling, resource allocation, job sequencing and service reliability.
Assess operational and supply chain risks, including late container arrivals, congestion, labour constraints and service disruptions, and contribute to contingency plans that minimise delays.
Support the implementation of approved logistics and process improvements,



monitoring outcomes and helping operational teams embed revised procedures.
Develop and maintain logistics reports, KPI dashboards and performance summaries covering turnaround times, productivity, service levels, job completion and cost trends.
Monitor container movements and operational schedules, investigate delays or performance exceptions, and liaise with internal teams and external logistics stakeholders to support timely resolution.
Analyse service costs, supplier or contractor performance and relevant invoice or job data to identify discrepancies, cost-saving opportunities and improvements in operational control.
Qualifications and Skills: Relevant qualification.
Minimum 1 year experience as a Logistics Analyst.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret logistics and operational data and turn findings into practical recommendations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence working with logistics, reporting or operational data systems.
Robust communication and stakeholder coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with operational teams and external service providers.
Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
Salary: The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $75,000 - $85,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
