Are you an experienced lending professional, ready to step into a lead role where you can shape capability, influence policy, and deliver outstanding member outcomes?
RAC Finance are looking for a Lending Lead to joining our Personal Finance team, playing a pivotal role in our Personal Finance team.
This is a hands-on prospect for someone who thrives in lending operations, enjoys developing others, and has a passion for continuous improvement and member advocacy.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Personal Finance, you'll act as the 2IC for the team, providing leadership support while maintaining strong ownership of lending activities.
You'll balance credit assessment, loan processing, policy and procedure governance, and people leadership, ensuring our lending practices are compliant, efficient and member focused.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being the go-to subject matter expert, confidently handling escalations and complaints, and leading improvements across lending processes.
What you'll be doing:
Act as the subject matter expert for document verification and lending scenarios
Own and continuously improve lending policies and procedures, ensuring they remain current, compliant and well documented
Assisting when needed to assess and approve personal loan applications and prepare loan documentation
Ensure adherence to NCCP, AML/CTF and KYC obligations
Support governance reporting, submissions and continuous improvement initiatives
Act as 2IC to the Personal Finance Manager, stepping in to lead the team as required
Coach, support and uplift team capability through 1:1s, call reviews and quality assessments
What You'll Bring:
Cert IV in Credit Management or similar (Desired)
RG146 / Tier 2 Financial Services accreditation (Desired)
Proven experience in personal loan assessment (banking or finance essential)
Strong understanding of responsible lending obligations and the National Consumer Credit Act
Demonstrated experience writing, maintaining or improving policies and procedures
Proven ability to lead, coach and influence without direct reports
Experience handling escalations and complaints with confidence
Exceptional attention to detail and decision-making capability
