About the Opportunity
John Paul College is seeking a customer-focused and organised Library Learning Assistant to join our Library Learning Centre for Term 4, ****.
This is a outstanding opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for reading and learning, to support students and staff across our College, contributing to a welcoming, inclusive and engaging library environment.
This is a contract position for Term 4, commencing October 6 and ceasing November 27, ****.
This is a full-time role, working Monday-Friday, with shifts scheduled between the hours of 7am – 5pm.
About the Role
Reporting to the Library Manager, you will play a key role in supporting circulation services, resource management and reading promotion, helping to foster a culture of literacy, research skills and lifelong learning across the College.
Key Responsibilities
Support students and staff in accessing, locating and using print and digital resources
Assist with circulation, shelving, overdue management, cataloguing and processing of library resources
Foster a culture of reading through displays, book recommendations, programs and events
Use the Library Management System, digital databases and educational technologies to support library operations
Contribute to the smooth operation of the Library Learning Centre, including facilities, safety and continuous improvement
Demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to the College's values in all interactions
About You
Experience & Skills
Excellent customer service skills,



with a friendly and patient manner.
Previous experience in a library and/or education environment.
A genuine passion for literature, reading and learning.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Demonstrated experience using library management systems, digital databases or similar educational technologies.
Experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting is preferred.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in Library Studies, Information Management, School-based Education Support, or a related field is preferred.
Certificate III or higher in Education Support is desirable.
Current First Aid certificate, or ability to obtain one.
Current Blue Card / Positive Notice Working with Children check or ability to obtain one.
