Position: MOTOR MECHANIC Position Type: Full Time Salary: $79,500 p.a plus Super Employer Name: The Trustee for the Euro Tech Automotive Trust A.B.N. ************** Job Location: 290 Keilor Road, Essendon North, VIC **** Advertising Period: 28 days - 27 Aug ******* Sep **** Summary Our client BMAutoCare is an experienced European automotive workshop specialising in servicing, diagnostics and repairs for BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Mini and other premium vehicles.
Our client is seeking to add a Motor Mechanic to its Essendon North team, providing high-quality mechanical repairs, scheduled servicing, diagnostics and component replacement using modern workshop equipment and advanced diagnostic technology.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using scan tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Perform engine removal, replacement, dismantling, rebuilding and associated mechanical repairs.
• Remove, repair, rebuild and install transmissions, gearboxes and related drivetrain components.
• Diagnose turbocharger faults and complete turbocharger replacement, installation and associated repairs.
• Inspect, repair and replace braking system components to maintain safe vehicle operation.
• Diagnose and repair suspension and steering systems, including replacement of worn components.
• Repair cooling systems, including water pumps, radiators, hoses and related components.
• Carry out scheduled servicing including oil changes, filters, inspections and engine tune-ups.
• Test and adjust repaired mechanical components to confirm correct operation and performance.
• Use computer-based diagnostic equipment to identify faults and verify completed repairs.
• Inspect vehicle components for wear,
damage or defects and determine appropriate repair requirements.
• Refer to manufacturer specifications, service manuals and technical information when completing repairs.
• Complete performance-related mechanical modifications, tuning and adjustments where required by customers.
• Maintain workshop tools, equipment and work areas in accordance with safety requirements.
• Communicate identified faults, required repairs and completed mechanical work clearly and accurately.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role: • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, or an equivalent recognised automotive mechanical trade qualification, is required.
• Minimum 12 months' recent, directly relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic or closely comparable automotive technician is essential.
• Demonstrated experience diagnosing mechanical, electrical and electronic vehicle faults using contemporary scan tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Practical experience completing engine, transmission, braking, suspension, steering and cooling system repairs and component replacement.
• Strong knowledge of scheduled servicing procedures, vehicle inspections, fault finding and preventative automotive maintenance requirements.
• Experience working with European or premium vehicles, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi or similar marques, is highly regarded.
• Ability to interpret service manuals, technical specifications and diagnostic information to complete repairs accurately and efficiently.
• A valid Australian driver's licence, strong safety awareness and ability to work effectively within a professional workshop team.
