We're currently recruiting for Counsellor and AOD Counsellors to join a welcoming well establied not-for-profit community-based mental health service in Cairns.
This is an opportunity to provide accessible, trauma-informed support to individuals and families while working alongside a multidisciplinary team and broader community services.

Permanent part-time employment Professional development and ongoing training Regular supervision and reflective practice Employee Assistance Program Fitness Passport About the Role You'll provide brief intervention, counselling, care coordination and referrals to people experiencing mental health concerns, AOD challenges, distress or crisis.
The service provides a low-stigma, accessible alternative to emergency departments, offering immediate,



short and medium-term support before connecting people with ongoing services.
About You We're looking for a compassionate and experienced Counsellor who can work confidently with people experiencing mental health concerns, AOD issues and complex psychosocial needs.
You will ideally have: A minimum Bachelor's qualification in Counselling and Psychotherapy Current ACA Level 3+ or PACFA registration Experience working with mental health and/or AOD Experience supporting people with complex needs This is a permanent part-time position, 3 days per week , with the service operating across a 7-day roster , including evenings and weekends .
