Job description Our client is undertaking a Payroll Improvement Program and is seeking an experienced Payroll Remediation Analyst to support the early stages of this work.
This is a specialist role suited to a payroll professional who is comfortable operating in an evolving environment The Role Reporting into the Payroll Improvement Program, you will undertake historical payroll analysis to identify potential underpayments, overpayments and instances of incorrect application of employment entitlements.
The role involves detailed reconciliation work across systems, employee records and employment conditions, with a lookback period of up to seven years.
Key responsibilities include: Undertaking historical payroll analysis across a lookback period of up to seven years.
Reviewing payroll transactions and employee records to determine whether employment entitlements have been correctly interpreted, calculated, processed and paid.
Identifying and quantifying potential underpayments, overpayments, anomalies and systemic issues.
Reconciling payroll data across systems, employee records, employment conditions and other source information.
Analysing historical payroll processes, practices and system configuration to identify root causes and impacted employee cohorts.
Supporting detailed testing and calculation of confirmed remediation issues as scope develops.
Maintaining clear working papers, calculation methodologies, assumptions and audit trails to support remediation outcomes.




Working closely with Payroll and other stakeholders to validate findings and support the prioritisation of remediation activity.
About You Demonstrated payroll analysis experience, with previous payroll remediation or historical payroll review experience strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of Australian payroll and the interpretation and application of employment entitlements.
Experience working with complex payroll datasets and undertaking detailed reconciliations and calculations.
iChris and PayGlobal (MYOB) experience highly desirable, particularly the ability to interrogate historical payroll data.
Robust analytical and investigative capability, with the ability to connect the dots across data, systems, processes and employment conditions.
High attention to detail and the ability to identify patterns, anomalies and potential systemic issues.
Comfortable operating in an evolving and initially undefined environment, where confirmed issues and remediation scope are still being established.
A self-starter who can quickly understand the payroll environment, work independently and progress analysis with limited direction.
Ability to clearly document findings and explain complex payroll issues to relevant stakeholders.
