This is a 12-month temporary Executive Level 1 opportunity based in Canberra , with hybrid working arrangements As the Procurement Capability Contract Management Lead , you will report to the Assistant Manager – Procurement and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
You'll work closely with business areas, delegates, contract managers and senior stakeholders to build procurement capability, provide expert advice and improve the agency's approach to contract management.
Your work will include: Leading the development and implementation of procurement and contract management frameworks, guidance, tools and templates.
Designing and delivering practical procurement and contract management training, including workshops, learning pathways and quick-reference resources.
Providing senior advice on complex procurement and contract management matters, including contract variations, supplier performance, contractual disputes, value for money, probity and Commonwealth Procurement Rules compliance.
Acting as a senior escalation point for the Procurement Team and providing continuity and decision support during periods of high workload or priority activity.
Working with business areas to identify capability gaps and develop practical solutions that improve procurement and contract management outcomes.
Refreshing and maintaining procurement content, SharePoint resources, templates, forms, process maps and user guidance.
Contributing to procurement governance, assurance, audit recommendations, conflict-of-interest guidance and contract management controls.
Supporting improvements to procurement and contract management processes within the agency's TechnologyOne ERP and related systems.
Building solid relationships and fostering a collaborative, practical and risk-aware service culture.
Ideal experience includes Strong practical experience across the procurement lifecycle and contract management, including complex Commonwealth contract management and procurement advice or delivery.
Training and capability development.
Ability to design practical learning products, confidently deliver training and translate policy or procedural requirements into user-friendly guidance.
Stakeholder engagement and influence, strong communication, consultation and facilitation skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders and support business areas to adopt improved practices.
Framework and policy development Experience developing frameworks, operating models, templates, procedures or guidance that are explicit, usable and aligned to governance requirements.
Judgement and problem solving - Ability to work through complex, ambiguous or sensitive matters and provide balanced, risk-aware and defensible advice.
Leadership and team support - Ability to provide senior-level backup, support team capability, prioritise work and act as a trusted escalation point for complex matters.
Systems and process improvement Ability to identify opportunities to improve procurement and contract management processes, including through system guidance, workflow improvements or better self-service resources.
