Position Overview: The Landscape Gardener will contribute to various projects, working independently or, more frequently, as part of a team to provide top-notch garden and grounds maintenance or landscaping services.

The Landscape Gardener will work across Australian Native Landscapes sites located in Terrey Hills, North Ryde, Seven Hills and Badgerys Creek, New South Wales.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Grounds and Gardens Maintenance Care for flowerbeds through weeding, hoeing, planting, and pruning.
Maintain fruit trees and ornamental specimen trees to ensure healthy growth.
Trim hedges and manage overgrown brambles as needed.
Oversee the upkeep of containers and hanging baskets, ensuring vibrant displays.
Conduct daily maintenance of the grounds, marking sports areas, and preparing playing surfaces using appropriate techniques and machinery.
Maintain ditches and pathways, and manage the removal of grass clippings and leaves.
Operate machinery including ride-on mowers, power tools, and tractors, ensuring their upkeep.




Manage watercourses and assist with tree pruning, alongside minor repairs to hardscape elements like dry stone walls.
Perform weed spraying and apply fertilizers and chemicals, maintaining accurate spray records.
Undertake general gardening tasks, turf care, and grass cutting, which may require heavy lifting.
Assist with the setup and takedown of sports equipment, including goal posts and marquees.
Support fellow staff members with additional tasks as directed by the Bursar or Grounds Gardens Manager at both the Senior School and the Prep/Pre-Prep site.
Attend necessary training sessions for the safe operation of chainsaws and other power equipment, as coordinated with the Grounds and Gardens Manager.
Note: The post holder may be reasonably required to perform duties other than those given in the job description for the post.

Requirements: AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV qualification At least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed At least three (3) years of experience working as a Landscape Gardener or in a similar horticulture/landscaping role Experience working with Australian native plants and an understanding of native plant species and their maintenance requirements.
Knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements and protected work practices.
Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
Current driver's licence and the ability to travel between ANL sites, including Terrey Hills, North Ryde, Seven Hills, and Badgerys Creek, NSW.
