We're now looking for a passionate and experienced Tenancy Relations Officer to join our New Zealand team.
About the Role As a Tenancy Relations Officer, you'll play a vital role in supporting tenants to sustain successful tenancies while ensuring properties are managed effectively and in accordance with New Zealand tenancy legislation.
This is a diverse and rewarding role that blends tenancy management, property inspections, leasing, arrears management, conflict resolution and community engagement.
You'll work closely with tenants, support agencies and key stakeholders to achieve positive housing outcomes while maintaining compliance and operational excellence.
This position is available on a full time, permanent basis and will operate from our Auckland and Glen Eden offices with travel between Home in Place properties required.
Key responsibilities include: Managing a portfolio of community housing tenancies Building positive relationships with tenants and providing exceptional customer service Managing tenancy enquiries,



tenancy breaches and neighbourhood concerns Conducting routine inspections, vacancy inspections and property sign-ups Coordinating repairs and maintenance requests Managing rent and non-rent arrears and supporting tenants to maintain successful tenancies Preparing for and representing Home in Place at mediation and tribunal hearings Identifying tenant support needs and facilitating referrals to appropriate services Ensuring tenancy and property records are maintained accurately and within required timeframes About You You are a confident and compassionate tenancy or property professional who understands the importance of balancing compliance requirements with a genuine commitment to supporting people.
You'll bring: Experience in tenancy, property or housing management, ideally within social or community housing Knowledge of the New Zealand Residential Tenancies Act and related legislation Experience working with diverse communities and vulnerable populations Strong communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills The ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism, empathy and sound judgement Excellent organisation and time management skills Experience preparing documentation and representing matters at mediation or tenancy tribunal hearings (highly regarded)



Strong computer skills and experience using property management systems and Microsoft Office A current unrestricted New Zealand Driver Licence Relevant qualifications in Property Management or a related discipline (desirable) Why Join Home in Place?
