This is a 15 month fixed term, full time position commencing October **** with possible extension and/or permanency.
Across the state, Regional Education Offices are responsible for supporting schools in the metropolitan and rural areas by promoting system initiatives, providing support and quality assurance and ensuring consistency in the implementation of policies and procedures to enhance the outcomes of schooling.
Regional offices are also required to ensure that each school within their area of responsibility complies with the relevant legislation and policies.
With 23 public schools catering to over 5,250 students, ranging from urban-style environments to smaller settings in remote communities, the Kimberley offers a diverse and enriching education landscape for passionate teachers.
The Role
The successful applicant will support and lead the effective implementation of procedures and processes in schools to ensure non-attending and alienated students participate and are engaged in educational programs.
They will provide strategic advice and support to Principals and school staff in the implementation of school attendance strategies and policy compliance whilst also providing advice and support to School Based Attendance Officers (SBAO) regarding home visits, policies and procedures within a school-based context.
This applicant will implement and manage system level initiatives relating to attendance at regional level.




They will monitor and contribute to the management of school attendance strategies and will monitor and analyse student exemptions from schools at the regional level.
This applicant will additionally facilitate and collaborate with Principals, SBAOs, Aboriginal Education Coordinators, School Psychology Services and Participation staff on appropriate placement of non-attending and alienated students.
They will be expected to provide strategic advice and coordination to School Psychology Services and Participation staff regarding Regional programs and strategies for students at educational risk.
