The opportunity

As a Risk Advisor, you'll play an important role in helping Council effectively identify, manage and monitor risks across the organisation. Working closely with stakeholders at all levels, you'll provide expert guidance on risk management, internal audit and assurance activities, helping to strengthen governance, compliance and informed decision-making while fostering a proactive risk culture.

What you'll do

- Support the implementation and ongoing management of Council's enterprise risk framework.
- Coordinate and maintain risk registers, audit action registers and related assurance systems.
- Provide specialist risk management, governance and internal audit advice to stakeholders.
- Assist with the delivery of the Internal Audit Program and Audit and Risk Committee activities.
- Develop reports, training and improvement initiatives that strengthen organisational risk capability.

What you need to succeed

- Qualification in risk management, audit, governance, business administration or a related field.
- Experience in risk, assurance, internal audit or compliance functions.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise risk management frameworks and governance processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong organisational skills, initiative and ability to manage competing priorities autonomously.
