Senior Ministerial Briefings Officer
Location: Sydney, Macquarie Park
Contract: labour hire
Rate: Daily rate of $750, 8 hours per day/40 hour week
Start date: ASAP until 30th of October initially

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Ministerial Briefings Officer to join a busy government team responsible for preparing high-quality briefing materials for Ministerial Offices and senior executives.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong government writing, research, stakeholder engagement and coordination skills who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities and deadlines can change quickly.
You will take briefing requests from inception through to completion, working with subject matter experts and stakeholders across different portfolios to gather information, develop content and deliver clear, accurate and well-structured briefings.

What you'll be doing

- Research, write and develop Ministerial briefing products using existing information, data and research.
- Work closely with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to gather, validate and refine information.
- Coordinate input from multiple teams and portfolios to produce clear, consolidated and consistent briefing materials.
- Manage multiple briefing requests simultaneously, including urgent, sensitive and high-impact matters.
- Track requests, deadlines and progress, keeping stakeholders informed of any changes or risks.
- Conduct thorough quality assurance and document control before briefings are provided to Ministerial Offices or senior executives.
- Ensure written materials are accurate, appropriately presented and tailored to the intended audience.
- Maintain organised records, briefing content and documentation to support knowledge management.
- Contribute to improving briefing processes, templates,



guidelines and systems.
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and provide a responsive, client-focused service.

About you
We are looking for someone who can take complex information, understand it quickly and turn it into a clear and professional briefing for a senior audience.

You will ideally have:

- Demonstrated experience writing Ministerial briefings, government correspondence, parliamentary material or similar high-level communications within a government environment.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to write clearly, concisely and in plain English.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify relevant information and understand complex issues.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and confidence working with subject matter experts and senior stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage high volumes of work and competing deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
- The ability to work autonomously while knowing when to escalate complex or politically sensitive matters.
- Experience working in a government, Ministerial, policy, parliamentary or similarly regulated environment will be highly regarded.
- Relevant qualifications and/or equivalent professional experience.
