Supportive Team | Quality Property Work | Collaborative Firm Culture
You're organised. You know how to keep a busy legal team moving.
You can manage competing priorities, anticipate what's needed next and somehow make sure the important things don't get missed.
Sound like you?
If you're an experienced Legal Assistant with Property experience - or someone with a solid understanding of conveyancing and property transactions - this could be an opportunity worth exploring.
We are partnering with a highly regarded Melbourne law firm seeking a proactive and capable Property Legal Assistant to join its busy and collaborative Property team.
The Opportunity This isn't a role where you'll simply sit behind the scenes doing the same thing every day.
You'll work closely with two Law Clerks and the broader Property team, becoming an important part of the day-to-day progression of matters.
The team works across a diverse range of property transactions, acquisitions and developments, and you'll have the opportunity to support quality work in a professional, fast-paced environment.
Just as importantly, you'll be joining a team that genuinely works together. The environment is collaborative, supportive and solutions-focused, with everyone playing their part to keep matters moving.
What You'll Be Doing Your role will be varied and hands-on, with responsibilities including:
- Supporting two Law Clerks and the wider Property team
- Preparing, formatting and amending legal documents and correspondence
- Opening, maintaining and closing files
- Managing diaries, appointments and key deadlines
- Assisting with client enquiries and incoming calls
- Liaising with clients and other internal and external stakeholders
- Supporting the smooth progression and administration of property matters
- Managing billing, timesheets and general practice administration
- Providing proactive support wherever it's needed in a busy team environment
About You We're looking for someone who is organised, switched on and one step ahead.
Ideally, you will bring:
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably within Property or Conveyancing
- A sound understanding of the conveyancing process and property transactions
- Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a busy environment
- A proactive approach and the confidence to anticipate the needs of your team
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach to client service
- The ability to work independently while enjoying being part of a collaborative team
Experience with Microsoft Office is essential.
Experience using iManage, Affinity, PEXA, DocuSign and/or SRO Duties Online will be highly regarded.
Why Consider This Role?
- Work closely with experienced Law Clerks and a supportive Property team
- Exposure to varied and interesting property matters
- Collaborative environment where people genuinely support one another
- Busy, hands-on role with plenty of variety
- Join a highly regarded Melbourne law firm
- A excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in legal support and Property Law
If you're looking for a Property Legal Assistant role where your organisational skills are valued and your contribution genuinely makes a difference, I'd love to hear from you.
