The Opportunity

Join the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, consistently ranked among the top institutions globally. Based at Australia's premiere health and biomedical precinct in Parkville, our researchers are dedicated to discovering, researching, and designing better medicines of world significance.

We are seeking an energetic and collaborative Research Assistant to join the Drug Delivery, Disposition and Dynamics (D4) theme. In this role,



you will contribute directly to vital research efforts focused on the discovery of novel drug targets and the development of antimalarial and antibacterial compounds.

Working alongside world-leading pharmaceutical scientists in state-of-the-art facilities, your key focus will be investigating the response of malaria parasites, bacteria, and purified enzymes to inhibitor compounds using cutting-edge biochemical, cell biology, structural biology, and mass spectrometric techniques.

To be appointable into this role you will hold an honours degree or higher qualification, or equivalent research experience, in the relevant discipline or a closely related field and have demonstrated experience in culturing malaria parasites and bacteria, as well as experience in the field of biochemistry, microbiology and mass spectrometry and a track record in drug discovery and development.
