We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Senior Project Coordinator to join the Portfolio Delivery Unit.
This position is responsible for coordinating and supporting the delivery of multiple education infrastructure projects from the planning and pre-design phase through to practical completion.
The position will manage key stakeholder relationships and monitor critical project information, including milestones, expenditure, risks and issues and project performance throughout the project lifecycle.

About Us:
The Portfolio Delivery Unit provides management, reporting and delivery for a range of complex infrastructure, planning and asset management activities for the Department of Education. Delivering large growth projects across QLD, including new teaching spaces and amenities.
About this Role:
As the Senior Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
- Coordinating the delivery of multiple projects across the project lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, procurement, construction and commissioning, while ensuring project activities are undertaken in accordance with relevant legislative, policy and contractual requirements.
- Developing, maintaining and monitoring critical relationships with clients, stakeholders and service providers to support effective project delivery and achieve a high level of client satisfaction.
- Supporting procurement activities and coordinating consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders to facilitate successful project delivery.
- Supporting construction activities, including project meetings, site inspections, progress monitoring, identification of issues and coordination of responses.
- Monitoring project scope, program, budget, milestones, risks and issues, identifying emerging matters and escalating issues requiring attention.
- Managing critical project information such as milestones and expenditure to ensure project data is accurate and up to date within departmental systems, including SAP.
The Senior Project Coordinator, reports to the Manager, Portfolio Delivery, Infrastructure Delivery, Infrastructure Services Division based in the Brisbane CBD. Travel, including overnight travel, will be required from time to time.
About You:
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Experience delivering government infrastructure projects, including managing multiple projects at the same time.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects, tasks and priorities and meet deadlines.
- An understanding of project management and the delivery of capital infrastructure projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction and handover.
- Ability to keep track of project scope, program, budget, milestones, risks and issues,
and identify and escalate problems when required.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, contractors and internal teams.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prepare explicit and accurate project documentation, reports and correspondence.
- Ability to analyse project information, identify issues and help develop practical solutions.
- Ability to understand and work with project information such as programs, reports, contracts, drawings and other technical documents.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks, use good judgement and know when to seek advice or escalate an issue.
