About the role:

The Project Officer, Priority Programs and Service Improvement supports projects that strengthen community mental health commissioning, funding and service delivery. The role requires strong written communication, sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to coordinate work across multiple priorities. The Project Officer prepares clear advice, analyses information, supports funding and performance processes, and works with internal and external stakeholders to progress practical improvements across policy, service design and implementation.

The role will suit someone who can work confidently with data, correspondence, project documents and stakeholder input, and translate information into clear actions, risks and advice. The Project Officer contributes to priority portfolios including supported housing, youth mental health and eating disorders, and supports the team to respond to emerging issues, track delivery, maintain accurate records and provide timely advice to senior staff.

About you:

- Prepares reports,



briefs and correspondence on complex issues that impact at program or organisational level
- Develops and implements operational communication and consultation strategies on specific projects
- Contributes expertise to a team working on complex projects
- Draft and develop material including the preparation of Cabinet and Cabinet related material, Ministerial and Secretary briefings and meeting papers, agendas, minutes and reports.
- Applies sound theoretical and practical expertise in development of policy options
- Manages projects, usually under limited direction

Qualifications/Specialist Expertise:
- A tertiary qualification in fields related to public policy, health administration or business management is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience supporting project delivery, service improvement, funding administration, stakeholder engagement, performance monitoring or policy implementation in a health, community services or government setting would be advantageous.
