As an Administration Officer,



you will provide an efficient reception service for patients and clients presenting to the department while delivering courteous customer service and high-quality clerical support to the clinical team, patients, relatives and visitors. Your responsibilities will include managing medical records, maintaining the computerised appointment booking system, data entry, online Medicare billing, reception duties and general administrative support. You will also communicate key operational issues to supervisors and liaise with a broad range of stakeholders across Nepean Hospital and Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District to support continuity of patient care.

What you will bring to the role * Extensive administrative knowledge and experience, including reception duties, with effective customer service skills

- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience in filing and maintaining medical records including understanding of the principles of confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise, co-ordinate and time manage daily tasks
- Demonstrated extensive experience using Windows based software including patient databases, preferably iPM or similar and experience in using MS Word and Excel and hospital-based systems
- Proficient knowledge of relevant Medicare item numbers and processes required for reliable and efficient Medicare billing
