An exciting opportunity has presented itself for an accomplished Senior Contracts Administrator to join a highly regarded Melbourne commercial builder delivering complex, high-quality projects across government, education, health and aged care, community and commercial sectors.

This is a senior delivery role offering ownership across the full commercial lifecycle of projects. You will work closely with experienced Project Managers and Directors while taking the lead on procurement, subcontractor management, cost control, contractual administration and commercial reporting.
The project environment is diverse and technically engaging, including live education campuses, government-funded facilities, aged-care and health environments, and community infrastructure. Experience delivering Victorian Government or VSBA-style projects will be highly regarded.

To be successful in being shortlisted for this role, it is ideal you possess the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years' local commercial construction experience,
including proven experience operating at Senior Contracts Administrator level.
- Demonstrated delivery experience across government, education, VSBA, health, aged care or comparable institutional projects.
- Strong knowledge of head contracts, subcontract agreements, procurement, cost reporting, variations, claims and project close-out.
- The commercial judgement and confidence to manage risk, negotiate effectively and provide clear advice to the project team.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills and full Australian working rights.
The role will see you:
- Lead contract administration and commercial management from pre-construction through to final account and close-out.
- Develop procurement schedules, prepare scopes of work, tender trade packages and make commercially sound subcontractor recommendations.
- Administer head contract and subcontract obligations, notices, variations, extensions of time, progress claims and payment schedules.
- Maintain accurate cost reports, forecasts, cash flow and project financial controls in partnership with the Project Manager.
- Identify commercial and contractual risk early, recommend practical mitigation strategies and ensure records remain complete and defensible.
- Coordinate consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to support programme, quality and delivery objectives.
- Attend client and project meetings, contribute to reporting and maintain professional relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support and mentor junior Contracts Administrators where required.
