About the role

This is a hands-on learning design and development role with leadership responsibilities. You'll manage a small team of Instructional Designers and contractors, while personally designing and developing learning and assessment products, building courses in Articulate Rise, writing assessments and mapping, and driving projects through to completion. The Learning Design Manager sits at the intersection of learning design, digital systems and training operations. You'll work across multiple projects and training brands, collaborating with subject matter experts, trainers across Australia, our compliance, training and customer success teams.

Key responsibilities

- Personally design and develop learning and assessment products while leading multiple development projects from scoping through to launch, managing project plans, resources, milestones and deadlines to ensure delivery stays on track.

- Design and build high-quality digital learning using Articulate Rise, incorporating visual, multimedia and interactive elements while applying strong accessibility, usability and learner experience principles.

- Develop and continuously improve accredited and non-accredited training materials, assessments, learning resources and supporting documentation.

- Write and review assessment tools and undertake detailed mapping against training package and regulatory requirements, working closely with our Head of Compliance to maintain quality and compliance.

- Work with subject matter experts, trainers and internal stakeholders to translate complex or technical information into clear, practical and engaging learning solutions.

- Manage a small team of Instructional Designers and external contractors, including allocating work, setting priorities,



reviewing quality and ensuring deadlines are achieved.

- Work confidently across our LMS, Student Management Systems and related digital platforms, ensuring learning content and workflows are well structured, reliable and fit for purpose, while identifying and resolving issues affecting delivery or user experience.

- Own the product feedback and improvement process, working closely with our Head of Partnerships, trainers and customers to capture feedback, identify opportunities and ensure improvements are prioritised and actioned quickly.

- Maintain effective quality assurance, version control and product development processes across all learning and assessment materials.

About you

- Advanced, hands-on Articulate Rise experience - essential.

- Solid understanding of RTO Standards 2025.

- Experience in First Aid, Health and Safety related courses is highly desirable.

- Strong experience with Learning Management Systems, Student Management Systems and related digital platforms, with the technical confidence to navigate, learn and troubleshoot systems.

- Demonstrated experience personally developing learning and assessment products from concept through to implementation, while managing multiple projects and delivering to agreed deadlines.

- Strong experience developing assessment tools, mapping documents, learning resources and digital learning content.





- Strong understanding of adult learning and contemporary instructional design, including accessibility, usability, visual design and learner experience principles.

- Experience working with SMEs and stakeholders to translate complex or technical information into clear, practical and engaging learning solutions.

- Experience leading or coordinating Instructional Designers, content developers or contractors, with the ability to set priorities, review quality and drive delivery.

- Excellent attention to detail, communication and stakeholder management skills, with a practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work at pace and respond quickly to changing priorities.
