About the role

Dental for Everybody is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team on a casual basis at our Chirnside Park location. This is an excellent chance to become part of a dynamic dental practice where you will provide essential support to our dentists. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth clinical operations, maintaining high standards of patient care, and contributing to a welcoming environment for our patients. This casual position offers flexibility whilst allowing you to make a meaningful difference in patients' oral health outcomes.

Key responsibilities

- Assisting dentists during clinical procedures by preparing instruments, materials and equipment

- Providing chairside support to ensure patient comfort and safety during dental treatments

- Sterilising and maintaining dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols

- Recording patient medical and dental histories and maintaining accurate clinical notes

- Preparing treatment rooms and restocking supplies as required

- Greeting patients, scheduling appointments and managing reception duties

- Supporting the dental team with administrative tasks including filing, data entry and organisation of patient records

- Maintaining a clean, hygienic and professional environment throughout the practice

- Following all health and safety regulations and infection control procedures

What we're looking for

- Completion of a Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting,



or equivalent qualification recognised by the Dental Board of Australia

- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Dental Assistant, or eligibility to register

- Knowledge of dental procedures, terminology and clinical protocols

- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care

- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative dental team

- Basic computer skills for managing patient records and appointment systems
