GPS Excavator Operator | Sydney Metro area | Civil works

We are currently seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our growing civil construction team.
n If you have extensive experience operating large excavators and enjoy working on diverse infrastructure projects, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

n

As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy machinery across a range of civil construction and earthworks projects. The role requires a high level of skill, attention to detail, and the flexibility to travel between project sites as required.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Perform bulk earthworks, excavation, trenching, demolition, and final trim activities.
n
- Operate various excavator attachments including:n n
- Hydraulic hammers
n
- Grabs
n
- Rock saws
n
- Tilting mud buckets
n
- Smooth-edge mud buckets
n

n
- Complete daily pre-start inspections and basic machine maintenance.
n
- Work safely in accordance with site procedures and WHS requirements.
n
- Assist with operating other plant and machinery when required.
n
- Minimum 4–5 years' experience operating 30T–120T excavators.
n
- Proven experience in civil construction and bulk earthworks.
n
- Strong experience using a variety of excavator attachments.
n
- Ability to read and work from site plans and construction drawings.
n
- Excellent understanding of secure operating procedures.
n
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport.
n




- Willingness to travel to various project locations as required.
n

Essential Requirements

n

n
- Minimum 4–5 years' experience operating 30T–120T excavators.
n
- Proven experience in civil construction and bulk earthworks.
n
- Strong experience using a variety of excavator attachments.
n
- Ability to read and work from site plans and construction drawings.
n
- Excellent understanding of safe operating procedures.
n
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport.
n
- Willingness to travel to various project locations as required.
n

Highly Regarded

n

n
- Experience operating long-reach excavators.
n
- Experience using GPS machine control systems.
n
- Additional plant competencies, Statements of Attainment (SOAs), or Verification of Competencies (VOCs) for other machinery.
n
- Multi-skilled operators capable of operating loaders, dozers, graders, rollers, or other civil plant.
n

Please Note

n

n
- Applicants whose experience is primarily in tunnelling should also demonstrate solid experience in bulk earthworks and civil construction, as these projects require different operating skills.
n
- We are seeking experienced operators who are currently working in dedicated excavator operating roles.
n
