About therole:

n

We arecurrently seeking a Community Practitioner to join our team inRockhampton. Our Community Practitioner provides counselling andsupport to individuals, young people and families who are subjectto child protection interventions..

n

What will atypical day look like?

n

n
- Engage youngpeople, carers, and young people's families through the use ofa range of counselling and strength-based therapeuticinterventions, tools, perspectives and strategies to improvewellbeing
n
- Assist families todevelop knowledge and skills to provide relevant and positivecare for children and young people
n
- Promote and developpositive working relationships with stakeholders and networksto improve support for young people, carers, and young people'sfamilies
n
- Workcollaboratively with a young person & their care team to helpsupport placement stability and wellbeing of youngperson
n
- Support youngpeople to manage maladaptive and challenging behaviours throughsupporting young people to identify worries and issues andsetting mutually agreed and achievable goals
n
- Contribute to andfacilitate the delivery of educational programs to encouragethe development of knowledge, skills and confidence in parentsand carers to provide care to children and youngpeople

MandatoryRequirements:

n

n
- Bachelor orpost-graduate qualifications in Social Services, Psychology,counselling or similar are mandatory.
n
- Experience in asimilar counselling role is highly desirable.
n
