Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, develop and support modern web and mobile applications in a high-performing digital team. You’ll write clean, maintainable code, contribute to shared UI frameworks, and mentor mid-level developers.

You’ll collaborate with product owners, UX designers, backend developers, and QA to deliver features that are fast, accessible and secure-by-design with modern standards in frontend architecture, DevOps, and cloud delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Build and maintain user-facing components using Vue, React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
- Deliver cross-platform mobile features using React Native, Expo or similar mobile frameworks.
- Integrate frontend applications with secure API endpoints.




- Translate system requirements, functional specifications, and user stories into actionable technical deliverables.
- Participate in architecture and design discussions; contribute to shared frontend patterns.
- Write reusable code, unit tests, and clear technical documentation.
- Optimise applications for accessibility, performance and low-resource usage.
- Ensure all solutions comply with established security, compliance, and accessibility standards.
- Collaborate with UX and design to refine interaction flows and meet WCAG standards.
- Support test automation and CI/CD pipelines.
- Conduct pull request code reviews.
- Work closely with QA, product and security teams to ship reliable, production-grade features.
- Provide technical mentorship and support to team members, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.

Essential Technical Skills

- 5+ years of experience in full-stack software development.
- Proficient in Vue, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Next.js.
- Experience with backend or serverless technologies: .NET, Node.js, PHP (Laravel).
- Strong experience with React Native, Expo and mobile development (iOS/Android).
- Solid understanding of REST API integration.
- Experience with GIT workflows and Agile delivery environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Familiar with responsive UI, browser performance tuning,



and accessibility practices.
- Effective collaboration skills, working closely with business analysts, stakeholders, and technical teams.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, fostering an inclusive workplace culture.
- Adaptability to manage shifting priorities and deliver on tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of up-to-date testing frameworks: Jest, Cypress, Playwright.
- Able to balance delivery speed with maintainability, scalability, and test coverage.

Desirable

- Familiarity with WCAG 2.2, usability best practices, and accessible frontend design.
- Experience with cloud platforms and services:
- Azure (Functions, App Services, Blob Storage, etc.)
- AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Cognito, Amplify etc.)
- Experience with DevOps practices and tooling: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Docker.
- Experience working in SaaS, compliance-regulated, or healthcare domains.
- Exposure to Python for automation, scripting, or backend integration.
- Interest or experience in integrating AI features (e.g. Copilot, semantic search, ML outputs).

- Internal: Product Managers, UX Designers, QA Engineers, Backend Developers, Data Engineers
- External: Platform vendors, mobile framework contributors, design partners

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Equivalent experience considered

·Must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have unrestricted work rights in Australia.

- National police check.
- Declaration of disciplinary or professional history.
- Compliance with data handling and confidentiality policies.
- Australian Perm.
