To support this commitment, we are seeking an experienced and reliable Handyperson / Maintenance Officer to help uphold the high standards across our residential buildings and continue delivering an exceptional living experience for our tenants.
n
About the role
n
This role will be based on-site at one of our residential properties across Greater Sydney. Normally, you will be based at a specific apartment but, as part of a collaborative team structure, site locations may be adjusted in line with operational requirements, providing you with the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of high-quality properties.
n
You will be responsible for:
n
n
- Supporting the Building Manager with all maintenance requirements for tenants and the apartment building
n
- Carrying out general day-to-day repairs across the building and apartments
n
- Performing basic maintenance tasks including tiling, patching, painting, replacing light bulbs, and minor plumbing works
n
- Ordering materials and organising quotations for larger repairs
n
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and well-stocked workshop
n
- Conducting weekly and monthly inspections in line with company procedures
n
- Tracing and repairing internal and external water leaks
n
- Installing, removing, and replacing appliances as required
n
- Coordinating with and supporting licensed trades for more complex or specialised repairs
n
- Collaborating with other trades on larger projects within the building
n
n
What you'll need to succeed
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
- Previous experience working in large residential buildings, with a strong understanding of apartment operations
n
- Strong organisational and time management skills
n
- General knowledge of minor electrical work, painting, basic repairs, and plumbing
n
- High attention to detail and the ability to work independently
n
- Sound knowledge of WHS and safe work practices
n
- A proactive attitude and pride in delivering work to the Meriton standard
n
- A friendly and professional approach when interacting with tenants and team members
n
n

Additional Information

- This is a full-time position, so you must have full permanent working rights in Australia and be available to work full time hours.

- Note this role is for our Apartments and NOT our hotel/suites division.

- The successful applicant will be required to complete a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test, and provide a current criminal history check.
